Stop Construction Falls
April 28 is recognized around the nation and beyond as Workers' Memorial Day -- the day we remember that each year, more than 4,000 American workers die on the job. In the construction industry, we lose more than our share.

Falls from height are the leading cause of death in our industry. In 2014 alone, 337 workers died from falls on construction sites; lack of proper fall protection remains the
by OSHA. That's why in a few days, employers, workers, unions and safety associations will dedicate time to spreading the word that stopping falls can save lives.
Employers ranging from ENR 400 General Contractors to small residential specialty contractors joined the effort last year, reaching more than 1 million workers. Last year, an expanded effort brought the campaign to 2.5 million workers. This year our goal is to have over 5 million workers participate in Stand-Down activities between May 2 and May 6.
