Research That Improves Worker Safety and Health

Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s research program continues to develop guidance and tools to keep construction workers safe on the job. The funded by NIOSH have already produced materials that , , build awareness about hazards such as and , , help workers using , , , and . Coming in the next year are materials on exoskeletons, mentorship for female workers, the OSHA 10-Hour, and more. All these materials are free and join hundreds of other proven resources to keep workers safer. 

TOOLS FOR SAFETY AND HEALTH

New Materials to Support Women, Nonbinary, and Transgender Construction Workers

Because women, nonbinary, and transgender workers in construction face specific challenges, we continue to develop resources to respond. The newest are the to support workers’ ability to remain on the job safely for as long as they wish during pregnancy and return safely after giving birth, and a collection of , which workers can share with their doctors so they understand what is involved in the job and recommend appropriate care, accommodations, or other considerations. These new offerings join existing materials such as and a recent and on women in construction.


Two Data Dashboards Updated

Two of Â鶹ÊÓƵ's more than 30 interactive Data Dashboards have been updated. Both the , which compiles information on injuries that result in amputations, in-patient hospitalizations, or losses of eyes, and the now have data through June 2023.
