Are You Participating? Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls September 14-18
 The 7th National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls is quickly approaching! This annual event, part of the OSHA-NIOSH-Â鶹ÊÓƵ Campaign to Prevent Falls in Construction, serves as an opportunity to pause and re-focus on falls -- a leading cause of death in construction.
This year, we encourage employers and workers to participate virtually or with social distancing measures on the job site. Â鶹ÊÓƵ has created a plan for employers looking for activity ideas: .
New resources, including NIOSH videos and Â鶹ÊÓƵ-NIOSH infographics that make great posters or social media posts, can be found in the on stopconstructionfalls.com. As in past years, Â鶹ÊÓƵ is also shipping out FREE hardhat stickers and pocket-sized Hazard Alert Cards on aerial lifts, fall harnesses, ladders, and scaffolds. If you want to receive materials by the Stand-Down week, please place your order by this Friday (September 4th). If you place your order after that, don't worry! Fall safety is important year-round, and stickers can be handed out to workers later in recognition of Stand-Down participation. .

New Infographics about Suicide Prevention
September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and construction occupations have one of the highest suicide rates in the country. Â鶹ÊÓƵ is committed to developing and sharing resources to help organizations and individuals understand this issue, start a conversation, and play a role in supporting friends, co-workers and family members. We have just posted two new infographics (each available in English and Spanish) that can be used in social media, articles and presentations, as well as blown up as job site posters, to help the construction industry in this effort. COVID-19 Clearinghouse Offers More Than 250 Resources
The continues to be the construction industry's central resource for documents and information to help contractors and workers respond to the pandemic. This free online collection addresses crucial topics such as Guidance on Workplace Practices, Personal Protective Equipment, State and Local Requirements, Training Resources, and more. To suggest additions to the Clearinghouse, particularly innovative practices and equipment being used on job sites, email [email protected] and staff will follow up to learn more.

Small Study Program Offers Funding Opportunities
Our Small Study Program provides researchers funding of up to $30,000 to investigate promising new research initiatives in areas like research to practice, emerging issues, safety culture, and reaching high-risk sectors. Many Â鶹ÊÓƵ Small Studies grant recipients have gone on to publish findings and expand their research with larger projects. Thursday, September 10th, 2 p.m. ET -- Â鶹ÊÓƵ-NIOSH COVID-19 Webinar Series -- What We've Learned: Health Risks and Prevention
It's been roughly seven months since the COVID-19 pandemic took hold. While we've all tried to stay informed, sometimes the information is conflicting or confusing. Please join us for a conversation -- moderated by Â鶹ÊÓƵ Executive Director Chris Trahan Cain -- with Dr. Rosemary K. Sokas of the Georgetown University School of Medicine and Dr. Melissa A. McDiarmid of the University of Maryland School of Medicine on what's been learned during this period about the disease, how it spreads, and prevention. Also, Eileen Betit, Â鶹ÊÓƵ's Director of Research to Practice (r2p), will introduce a new free tool developed for construction employers to help them develop a COVID-19 exposure control plan for their job sites.
