Labor costs (e.g., wages and benefits) have a significant impact on the construction industry, in areas such as profits and number of jobs. It is important to understand trends in labor costs and how they differ by a variety of factors, such as demographic, subsector, occupation, and union status.
This story-dashboard summarizes the income and benefits of construction workers by these factors through a set of two charts: 1)ÌýEmployment CostsÌýand 2)ÌýWagesÌýand Earnings by clicking either the blue caption boxes or the arrows at the top of the dashboard. All data used for the dashboard are publicly available from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (see dashboard footnotes for specific sources).
Information on specific charts and instructions for dashboard use are included in the Data Dashboard information icon 
located to the right of the dashboard title. To get a full view of the dashboard on a mobile device, zoom out slightly and use landscape mode, which will provide a better navigation experience.
